Harvesting Funding

In April 2025 New York Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC) conducted a webinar entitled “Harvesting Funding – Master the Art of Finding, Writing, and Being Awarded Ag Grants.” The informative session was designed to help farmers understanding, prepare for, and secure agricultural grants with confidence.

The presenter, Bree Bacon, Certified Business Advisor at the Niagara Small Business Development Center (SBDC) walked attendees walk through each step of the process—from understanding what grants can and can't fund, to writing a competitive application, to managing an award with ease.

During the webinar, she covered such topics as: Why grants are valuable tools for agricultural projects, how to determine if you’re eligible, where to find the right grants for your farm’s needs, how to prepare before you even start writing, tips for submitting a standout application, what to expect when you win: managing your grant award, and tried-and-true success tips from the field.

If you are a farmer or food business just entering the world of grants, this is an informative session to view. Visit https://youtu.be/r2ifeCGDB7s?si=HT3pTYVrvROqnimi.
