The Meat Hook, Hudson, NY
The Meat Hook has been a beloved Brooklyn-based whole animal butcher shop in Brooklyn since 2009. In spring 2024 founder Brent Young opened a new full service Meat Hook outpost in Hudson, allowing him to also strengthen his bond with the local suppliers he already had relationships with and develop more.
The HVADC Agribusiness Loan fund was able to assist Young in his expansion with a loan for site renovations. At the two locations in Brooklyn, and the Hudson store, The Meat Hook butchers can tell the story of why their meat tastes so good - because it came from natural animals raised locally, in our climate, on our grass, and by our farmers. Operating a shop in his meat’s agricultural community of origin allows Young to deepen his commitment to the process he believes in.
