After nearly seven years as a champion of local farm fresh food and a culinary anchor on lower Warren Street in Hudson, specialty food purveyor Talbott & Arding Cheese and Provisions was planning a move to a larger space in Hudson in June 2021.They turned to HVADC both for Business Technical Assistance (BTA) to develop the plan to move to a new 8,000 square foot multipurpose store, and also to the HVADC Agribusiness Loan Fund for capital. HVADC was able to assist Talbott & Arding with part of their financing package to make the move, complementing funding also received from the Columbia Economic Development Committee, the Grow America Fund and the Capital Region Advantage Fund.
The move represented massive operational growth. They now carry a larger variety and quantity of local products, meat, cheese and goods, as well as upgraded to a major commercial kitchen for expansion of their own delicious take-out menu, baked goods, fresh pasta and more. The increased their wholesale, private label, ecommerce and catering programs as well as now being able to offer in-store dining and eventually culinary demonstrations and classes.
