Our mission is to provide innovative solutions that create dynamic agricultural entrepreneurship, support sustainability and climate resiliency and enhance economic growth in the Hudson Valley. Through improving equitable capital access and business technical assistance for agricultural and food entrepreneurs, HVADC is committed to presenting programming and lending programs that are inclusive of low-to-moderate income and underserved communities.

Avalon Bunge Program Associate
A native of upstate New York, Avalon is a land manager, gardener and food justice advocate. She supports a variety of HVADC programs, including Hudson Valley Bounty. Before starting her own homestead in Columbia County, she worked as a beekeeper’s apprentice and a farmers’ market manager, and has volunteered on seven farms across Northeastern Canada over the last decade.
Avalon holds a BA in Geology from Colgate University and an MS in Ecosystem Restoration from SUNY-ESF, where she investigated the potential of urban foraging to contribute to food sovereignty. She serves as secretary on the Town of Gallatin Conservation Advisory Council and is a member of the Riverkeeper Young Advocates Council.
